Product Description This is a cost effective solution for adapting your new Mini-DisplayPort equipped laptop to your current display with HDMI input - HDTV, Projector, Mini-DisplayPort is a miniaturized version of DisplayPort, the newest digital display interface developed by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). Most newer Macbook series laptops come equipped with the Mini DisplayPort interface for external video displays. Please check your laptop to make sure it has the Mini DisplayPort connection. *NOTE* AUDIO: This adapter will support audio only if your source device allows audio output through the Mini DisplayPorts interface. If you're not sure, please check with the manufacturer or website, to confirm if your device allows audio out through the Mini-DP interface.

Perfect July 29, 2010 BigBeast (OHIO) Works great delivering audio and video from my 2010 Macbook Pro. Great price and good looks.
No sound on new i7 MBPs July 25, 2010 Steven Klimasewski (Near Los Angeles CA USA) I ordered this MDP to hdmi adapter becouse I read a review on here from someone who said that they got sound to work with this on the newer i7 2010 MBPs. Since I have the 2010 MBP i ordered this and expected to have sound. Unfortunately there was no sound and I never did get it to work even after fooling around with it. However the picture works just fine and I guess thats good enough for what I need, I have external speakers anyway.
so in essence if you need a picture on the screen and don't care about sound buy this! but if you need sound this is not for you!
works - no audio support July 24, 2010 D. Cassel pros - works. This CAN drive a 1080p signal.
cons - no audio support, but few of these adapters offered it at the time of purchase. Also adapters that offer audio support are much more expensive.
charged twice July 23, 2010 fernando Gavilan (MIAMI, FLORIDA, US) the item was OK, however, i get charged twice. once i realized that the payment was twice the amount, i spoke to the seller telling him the problem. then he agreed, saying that i'll gonna get 2 adapters in order to fix the problem, but i only get one. i still want to get a refund
No Audio :( July 21, 2010 Zib Redlektab This adapter is nice in that it does, indeed output an image to the TV from my computer. However, there's no audio. I have a brand-new Macbook Pro, so it is audio-enabled through the Mini DisplayPort. I understand that this product ships from a number of different vendors, so some of them do audio and some don't, but that really doesn't help at all.
Long story short: if you don't need audio, get this. It's great! If you do need audio, DON'T BUY THIS. It's completely random whether or not the product you receive will carry audio.
I was disappointed, and definitely wouldn't have ordered had I read the rest of these reviews first.
