Amazon.com Product Description The Belkin 7-foot Y Audio Cable attaches to your iPod or iPod cradle to let you play your tunes on your home stereo or portable speakers. Just connect the 3.5-mm mini-stereo plug into your portable stereo device, then connect the RCA plugs into the RCA jacks of your stereo component or portable speakers. The cable also works with other portable audio devices and your computer's sound card. Each of the three plugs are color-coded for easy identification, and they use high-quality copper to ensure a consistent signal. Braid-and-foil shielding cuts down electromagnetic and radio frequency interference, and an aluminum undermold shield provides optimal signal integrity.

OMG, why'd I wait so long??? August 11, 2010 Coco (Montana) I was going to purchase this product but couldn't wait and went to Best Buy and picked up a similar cord for $17. On the way home my husband needed to stop at Lowes so I went in and found another one, Phillips brand, for $7 so I picked it up too. (Returned the one to Best Buy later.)
I had my doubts because I'd done some googling beforehand. Some said to expect poor sound quality. Others said that you really should get an 'official' docking station and not use the headphone jack on the ipod as your interface to your reciever. We have a Yamaha RX-V661 receiver and there are a lot of red and white thingy bobs on the back to choose from. I picked phono at first and was feeling very disappointed. The reviews were right, sound quality was awful. But I wasn't ready to give up eventhough my husband decided to use the electric knife sharpener while I was trying to get this rigged up. Anyways I plugged the red and white ends into the CD Audio In (you have to really push to get them in) and viola it worked!
I think the sound quality is great. The 6 foot cord allows me to have the ipod next to me so no remote control needed. I can use the reciever remote to adjust the volume. For 7 bucks I'm a happy camper. I can't believe I waited so long. It's great using your ipod music library on your home stereo. I'm sure this product for $10 is a great buy. I wouldn't hesitate.
worthless crap August 7, 2010 Eric C. Avinger (seattle, washington United States) i received the cord and it worked great as a stereo hookup for my Ipod, however the cord has developed a short in it less than a month after i received it! i did NOT misuse or abuse the product in any way, and as i bought this cord as a replacement for another cord that had the same problem (audio coming out of one side) i'm more than a little pissed. my past experience with belkin products tells me that they're overpriced but functional, this experience tells me they're overpriced, poorly made, and fragile no matter how simple their intended function. belkins price points are a clear case of lipstick on a pig.... avoid
AUDIO ONLY July 28, 2010 Albert Moreno I dont know why i thought this cable had VIDEO also. So i decided to purchased it to use it with my ipod and watch music videos on my tv but it only has red and white connection for audio ONLY not the yellow for video. Without the video is useless.

Belkin Saves Classic Amplifier from Death! May 11, 2010 Alistair Sinclair (San Diego, CA) I have a GORGEOUS Setton amplifier from France left over from the 70's ... it had been in storage for many many years. I wanted to 're-purpose' it ... beautiful construction, base/treble/mid knobs, support for 3 sets of speakers (a,b,c) ... very unique for that time period ... analogue signal strength meters ... far better ergonomics than the 'tiny button' crap sold today. Then bought indoor/outdoor speakers for garage and patio, plugged Belkin cable into TAPE MONITOR input (phono and other inputs produced a weak signal, hence weak volume) and plugged into full size classic iPod ... I couldn't be happier! I can use 'a' speakers only, b, or a+b ... no noise, just music, cable quality is outstanding. I like the cable length, enough slack to provide flexibility. Only problem was I had to really push the connector firmly into the iphone to get a connection ... you might buy an iPhone specific headphone adapter, then plug the Belkin into that. The iPod connection was perfect. To be in the garage, listening to the Beatles, looking at the analogue meters gracefully bouncing back and forth on my 1st amplifier that I slaved away for decades ago as a youngster? ... priceless.
