| Customer Reviews: Cables to Go selector box - Good to Go! August 26, 2010 J. A. Wydra (North Carolina) I bought a new LCD/LED a few weeks ago and was kind of disappointed at how few A/V inputs it allowed me to use. I need to add a Wii, a DVD (no Blur Ray), a DirecTV DVR (non HDTV) & a VCR. This thing was just the ticket. This will get me by as I upgrade my other components to HDMI inputs over the next few years. The TV has plenty of HDMI inputs.
I did back up a little by not being able to use the component inputs on the TV as this box allows A/V with S-video only. I could not tell much difference in picture quality of before & after putting the box inline. I gained flexibilty & really makes it easier for my 8 year old to change inputs w/o needing to change the inputs on the TV display menu. Overall very satisfied.
Great Little Device August 26, 2010 Dr. B (NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have three different components I need to hook up to my TV, but only have two sets of inputs to do it with. So I was always having to swap cables. After running across this device, I actually found that it solves two of my problems. Not only does it allow me to connect everything to my TV and switch between them with the simple press of a button, it also allows for a device with an S-Video jack to be connected to my TV which only has composite inputs. I had been using an adapter to do this, but it didn't fit into the S-Video jack very tightly and also the cable I was using it with wasn't very good quality. Now I use a high quality S-Video cable and let this box handle converting it to composite. The picture quality is much better now. So if you need a way to hook up more components than your TV can handle, this device can easily do the trick.
Perfect for the A/V setup I reworked at a local bar July 6, 2010 J. Mills (Burning Bird, AZ) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I'm going to type one review for three products. I hope that is allowed.
A friend of mine owns the "hippest ultra-chic dive bar" in Mesa, AZ. The A/V system has had many problems for several years. The biggest customer complaint was the snowy picture and lack of clarity across the 8 televisions. Being a dive bar, these were not LCD's or Plasma TV's, all were CRT's. I had a budget of $200. The original setup was for Direct TV, DVD player, VCR and ROKU, an internet TV provider. These were all connected via 2-way coax splitters and two way switches. I removed about two dozen of the switches and splitters along with a couple hundred feet of coax when I started.
The first part of my setup used the Cables To Go 28750 4x2 S-Video + Composite Video + Stereo Audio Selector Switch (Black) (purchased here). This product has 4 inputs with 2 outputs. Though the item doesn't mention it in the description, this switch is capable of converting S-Video to Composite and vice versa. This was handy because some of the source devices only had composite video out and I wanted to use S-Video coming out of the switch. I sent one of the 2 outputs to the A/V receiver, mainly for sound purposes but also to supply a monitor and digital projector.
The other output went to the Belkin RF Modulator ( F8V3063 ) that I purchased here. Since some of the TV's only had coax input and the rest were already wired with coax, converting the A/V signals to coax was the most cost effective distribution method. I would have loved to use RCA audio and S-Video to all available TV's but the cables and additional distribution splitter/amplifier would have exceeded my budget. This RF modulator did the job quite nicely.
From the modulator, the coax goes to the CHANNEL VISION C-0332 1 In / 16 Out Amplified Rf Splitter (also purchased here) and is then sent to the 8 televisions. I also added two additional TV's that are even further away from the splitter than the rest. I installed an "F Type 75 Ohm Terminator, Pkg/10" (purchased elsewhere) on every output that wasn't hooked up to a TV.
With the use of the above products, I was able to achieve crystal clear picture on all of the TV's, even the ones at the end of long runs of coax. I highly recommend any and all of the above items as all have performed flawlessly so far, about a month as of this writing.
great buy March 14, 2010 Howard Piggee (fredericksburg, va) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Ordered this switch box- it was exactly as advertised; arrived very quickly; was great price for both the box and for the shipping. I installed it in less than 5 minutes and it has worked perfectly. This was a great vendor and great product.
