Howdy folks! If you notice, this is a confusing listing. (to me anyway) It says it's sold by Cmple and fulfilled by Amazon. But what's the "other products by Importer 520" doing there?
Anyhow, my beef is with Cmple. Now these look like OK cables, but a couple of things you must know. First, Cmple bait and switched me. I bought premium cables of a brand I'm familiar with, yet they sent me crap. One penny per cable crap if you look around Amazon.
Second are some technical matters. I'm a video engineer by trade. Here's what will happen to your signals after 50 feet on those modestly built cables. Optimistically 60-70% of each of your three video signals will arrive at the other end, by measured amplitude. Now these signals will be boosted back up to proper levels by the receiving device, but at the expense of noise and other distortions. For a 50' haul I'd recommend RG59 diameter cables to cut that loss in half or 8281 diameter cables to reduce it next to nothing. If you're damn serious about a 50' haul, go w/RG9 diameter cables. These are as fat as my pinkie finger and your RGB will arrive in style.
As to the audio, let me just say that the matters are actually more complicated, and even worse. Go over 15' with those cables and I'll guarantee significant high frequency roll-off, and that's just for openers.
Now, most folks with Sylvania TVs and Kenwood stereos (modest equipment at best) will not notice this stuff. But if you own a newer Sony TV and/or have a decent sound system, and if you have fully functioning ears and eyes, please stay away, OK?
But the main thing I want to say, and what prompted this diatribe is to warn you about Cmple. There's every possibility that they'll substitute even cheaper crap than they show in their picture.
Thank you one and all for reading this!
