HDMI Version Compatibility: There is a lot of nonsense going around about HDMI specification versions, much of it directed at up-selling consumers into more costly cabling. The facts:
-Whether your equipment is running HDMI version 1.1, HDMI 1.4, or anything in between, a "high speed" HDMI cable such as this Tartan 28 AWG will support all HDMI protocols and features, all display refresh rates, all audio standards, and all resolutions, period. The only feature this cable will not support is Ethernet over HDMI, which is implemented on almost no existing equipment.
-Accordingly, this cable is compatible with 3D, 1080p, 1440p, 2160p, Audio Return Channel (ARC), all display refresh rates (60Hz, 120Hz, 240Hz, 480Hz), HDCP, 10.2 Gbps, TrueHD Dolby, DTS-HD, 4k x 2k, "Deep Color" of 10, 12 or 16 bit depth (or, as they are often expressed, 30, 36 or 48 bit), and any other resolution, feature, frame rate, or protocol in the HDMI universe.
-Likewise, this cable is compatible with all HDMI-compliant devices, including DVD players, satellite receivers, PS3, XBox 360, and any other device equipped with a compliant HDMI input or output, regardless of specification version.
-Cables are not manufactured to meet specific versions of the HDMI spec, and so it is incorrect to speak, as some vendors do, of an "HDMI 1.4 cable," "HDMI 1.4a cable," or the like.
