Product Description
High definition video has evolved rapidly since its inception with 720p video. At this time component video cables were the standard interconnect for receiving HD content, but this rapidly changed with the introduction higher resolution monitors and displays. A higher bandwidth cable was needed, and HDMI was developed as the single cable signal carrier for both high definition video and audio signals. HDMI has also seen the advent of the Deep Color video format (developed to display billions of colors), High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection, and new Dolby® and DTS® audio formats present on Blu-ray movies. HDMI v1.3 testing procedures ensure proper cable bandwidth to accommodate these feature sets. This 25 ft. high speed HDMI cable has been ATC certified for Category 2 compliance, and conforms to HDMI v1.3a standards—meaning that display resolutions of up to 1600p will not present a problem. High-purity 24 AWG conductors are used in a low-skew configuration to minimize impedance issues that create pixilation and HDCP component communication errors. In order to reduce oxidation, 24k gold plated connector contacts are used. Maximum signal transfer is achieved through the use of silver plating on the oxygen-free copper conductors. Complete three layer cable shielding reduces Electro-Magnetic Interference as well as Radio Frequency Interference. Permanent in-wall installations pose no problem; the cable jacket has been UL-rated to CL2 standards.
